Castell Coch is one of my favourite Burges places to visit, it retains that Medieval atmosphere he sought to recreate. I have been visiting it for over 20 years, & have photographed & measured most of the furniture & interiors there in that time. So if there are any brave well off souls out there who feel like they must have a piece of Coch Burges furniture we are the makers for you.
Burges never lived to see Coch completed, but it was carried on by those who worked with him for years & knew his style intimately. Some pieces are by Burges, some by his assistants & some are plain versions of earlier more ornate pieces by Burges. We could reproduce these pieces exactly, or adapt them to different sizes, or as designers produce new pieces in the same style. It's not always practical to reproduce some pieces exactly, for example; the wonderful castle washstand fitted into a window bay, so the piece was angled to fit the bay. It's unlikely anyone will have the same size bay for this to go in (although you could build one) so you would probably end up with a squared off version of the piece. You adapt the piece to the size you want & the space you have; this is no more than Burges had to do.
