This new sideboard designs really capture the essence of Egyptian style furniture in a contemporary way. The sloped sides were inspired by pylon shapes and the whole piece looks even more striking with a pyramid shaped mirror on top. This 2 door sideboard uses classic Egyptian figure/graphic painting styles and heiroglyphs in a novel way - it is almost a Pop Art style piece. We have shown several door designs you could have. Hand painted pieces like this take time and skill to produce, they are not cheap to do. We've used crossrails & bars at the top, a feature found on most Egyptian tables - these could be omitted and have full height doors. This cabinet can be used for several purposes, from sideboard to drinks cabinet, home office use, etc.
The sideboard is a simple 2 door cupboard, but the decorative painting in traditional style really makes the piece. The interior is fitted with 1-2 shelves usually. As well as a painted worktop you could also use limestone (the classic Egyptian stone) marble, granite, quartz, glass, Corian, whatever you like. The painting can be left clean and contemporary, or distressed to look more antique. You can choose to have the pyramid mirror or not. As this is made bespoke we can change the proportions, within reason, change the designs and colours used. Made to order, we don't disclose sizes or prices until we've agreed a spec with a customer.
