This smaller display shelf unit would add a dramatic punch in any hallway or living room. This piece has a visually strong shape, influenced by the splayed shape & massing of Pylon buildings and gates from Egypt. The shelves can either be solid or glass, depending on how you would like to use the cabinet; glass shelves being more suited to display of Objets D'Art or china/glasses, solid shelves for books. The shape is wonderful, part altar part practical piece of furniture, and it's not too large so suited to use in many rooms. This piece can be used for several purposes, from display unit, drinks cabinet, bookcase, home office use, etc. The unit is painted with the winged Goddess as the dominant motif, with heiroglyps surrounding it.
The painting is a typical Egyptian both in form and colours, with the black base colour giving a dramtic look. Overall the piece can be left clean and new, as shown, or distressed to look more antique. We can decorate this anyway you want and in any colours you want. Hand painted pieces like this take time and skill to produce, and the shapes are complicated to make, they are not cheap to do. As this is made bespoke we can change the proportions, within reason, change the designs and colours used. The cupboard can be fitted with 1 -2 shelves. Made to order, we don't disclose sizes or prices until we've agreed a spec with a customer.

Above left; this is shown with a larger top section made the same width as the worktop. Personally, this looks a bit top heavy, but some people may prefer this or the extra storage/display space it offers. Above right; This shows the small top version treated as a drinks cabinet.

Above we've shown the console with a matching style mirror frame, which will bounce light around your interior. The mirror frame is also pylon shaped, the reverse of the base table. It can be painted to match or contrast with the base. The mirror in this piece has a Maple finish background with black heiroglyphs, so the reverse of the base, which has a black base and light designs. The mirror has the classic Egyptian cornice moulding. The top & bottom rails are painted with 2 winged Sun disks, in different colours, echoing the winged Isis design on the base. The inner & outer vertical edges of the mirror frame were also painted black to echo the base colour and provide sharp keylines for the frame. The overall impression of both pieces is they could have been used in a movie, as it makes a dramatic overall impression.

It is easy to focus on nice designs and finished pieces, but furniture making is a practical business. Above we show a new console table & mirror being assembled, ready for base painting. You can see the final shapes nearly finished in the last photos. We will post more updates shortly on this piece as it progresses.
