This really is a very striking designed Egyptian style vanity unit, it almost looks like an altar. The overall shape uses typical Egyptian sloped sides, seen on everything from buildings to furniture, but we inverted the usual sloped shape, but it looks still very typically Egyptian in style. The black base colour gives it a dramatic look, with a decorative painting of the winged Godess the dominant design, surrounded by heiroglyphs for a sophisticated overall look. This vanity unit has quite a small foot print and would happily fit in a smaller bathroom.
It has 1 door and is fitted with 1 interior shelf. This style of vanity unit best suits the use of a sit on basin as shown. Cuistomers usually choose the basin they want to use and supply us the details for it so we can plan it with the vanity. Probably a brass tap would look most in style with this vanity (approximating to gold). THis is an awkward shape to make and there is a lot of detailed hand painting goes into producing decorative pieces like this, they are not cheap. For the worktop you could use limestone (the classic Egyptian stone but marks easier in a bathroom) marble, granite, quartz, glass, Corian, wood, whatever you like. The painting can be left clean and new, as shown, or distressed to look more antique. As this is made bespoke we can change the proportions, within reason and colours used. We can also supply matching mirror frames or wall mirror cupboards, bath panels, storage units, etc. to complete the themed interior. Made to order, we don't disclose sizes or prices until we've agreed a spec with a customer.

We've shown a matching style wall mirror above in 2 colour options, to suit the worktop colour/material. The pylon shaped mirror makes for a dramatic overall look, and can be made the same width as the vanity top, as shown below. We've shown an actual couple of made pieces below that are very close to ths style of vanity unit & mirror.

Above we've shown the console with a matching style mirror frame, which will bounce light around your interior. The mirror frame is also pylon shaped, the reverse of the base table. It can be painted to match or contrast with the base. The mirror in this piece has a Maple finish background with black heiroglyphs, so the reverse of the base, which has a black base and light designs. The mirror has the classic Egyptian cornice moulding. The top & bottom rails are painted with 2 winged Sun disks, in different colours, echoing the winged Isis design on the base. The inner & outer vertical edges of the mirror frame were also painted black to echo the base colour and provide sharp keylines for the frame. The overall impression of both pieces is they could have been used in a movie, as it makes a dramatic overall impression.

It is easy to focus on nice designs and finished pieces, but furniture making is a practical business. Above we show a new console table being assembled, ready for base painting. You can see the final shapes nearly finished in the last photos. We will post more updates shortly on this piece as it progresses. A test piece is made for the cornice moulding. Full size design drawings are produced for the artist to work to.
