The following bookcase designs are very satisfying offering elegant design options for your new bookcase, as they look classic Mackintosh in style. The tall vertical rails were based on a Mackintosh design, and the decorative squares & lines are very much as he did them. The visually strong ornate vertical rails really make these pieces with the various square shapes and colours. We've shown a range of bookcase options in typical Mackintosh colours. You can take the look further if you are remodelling your room, and match the bookcase's plinth & top rails with matching height skirting baseboard and picture rails, another typical Mack design element, creating strong horizontal lines around the room. We can also include cupboards or chests of drawers for the bookcases. Also, the sizes of the bookcases themselves can be increased or decreased as required. Although Mack has an instantly recognised look, he designed in a range of styles and palette of finishes, which we can offer.

The backs of the bookcases can be fitted with matching back panels or can be left open. They can be supplied freestanding or to be built-in, primed or finished. The above design shows how we can extend the look of the bookcase range to a whole room. Mack liked to create visual 'panels' in his interiors, it broke up blank walls and gave a sense of rhythm to the room and allowed for decorative details to be introduced. This dining room shows the walls 'panelled' with the same verticals as the bookcases, and even used for other pieces of furniture. Even the room door has been given the same styling. and
