Clarice Cliff; coffee / bistro tables
We used a Clarice Cliff design and transposed it onto a coffee table top, to make a decorative piece of furniture.
Clarice Cliff was the famous English China designer of the Art Deco period, and produced endless bright colourful
tea set designs with striking patterns & designs. The top design is based on her original colour scheme. However,
Clarice would often do alternative colour schemes using the same design. So we did the same & show other colour
options below. But there are lots of Clarice designs we could do as well. The table was hand painted & varnished.
The base is mahogany finish wood varnished. Dia. 90 cm / 3ft x ht 46cm / 16".
Clarice Cliffs' designs aren't to everyone's taste. Maybe even more so when used large scale on a table top. But they are still a part of the
whole Art Deco style. Sometimes it's good to have a splash of colour in a room scheme. These designs could be done on
breakfast or dining tables for the brave. We'd probably recommend a glass top to protect the designs.
Of course, this is only one Clarice Cliff design. There are actually lots
of great designs & colours used by Clarice, as shown below, that would
would transfer very well to table top designs. We could also supply these
as taller side or bistro tables, with Deco style stepped bases. We could
also supply round or square bases and/or tops. Let us know what you would like.
