This table lamp is one of our own designs inspired by the English artists of the Bloomsbury Group in UK. A simple if striking design, it relies as usual on simple shapes and contrasting colours of the original pattern. You could add a standard shade or use a Bloomsbury fabric. It is shown below on matching painted coffee table, but we have also designed other pieces using this pattern, such as the sofa and 2 door cupboard shown below.
Lamps like these are not an 'off the shelf' item, they are specially made to order. They are expensive to make like most quality craft items. The following photos show the process a bit more clearly, taking a blank canvas table lamp base, priming it, base painting it, then building up the design, on all faces, one colour at a time. Unlike many original pieces this table lamp was designed to the scale of the pattern. The main column setion has mitre corners, more work, but the advantage is you do not get any 'end grain' when painting, so each face is clean. Bespoke made to order. we do not give prices or sizes until we have agreed a spec with a customer.
These lamps are all made to order. They are not cheap; just making the lamp itself takes time, before doing the painted finishes. We don't supply lamp shades to go with the lamp, as this is personal taste & most customers prefer to choose their own. Supplied with a 2M cable (which can be longer if preferred, but no plug, as these vary by country). You would normally have a black cable with this lamp. The lampholder has an integral on/off switch. Please specify if you want the lampholder to hold bayonet or screw type bulbs and what finish you want the lampholder in. The shade sits on the lampholder & is held secure with a screw thread. Made to order, allow approx 6 - 8 weeks to make. We don't disclose sizes or price until we've agreed a spec with a customer.
