Art Deco - Skyscraper style chairs
These chair designs are a direct legacy of the Art Deco Skyscraper style. The aim was to design a
chair and matching side tables. The chairs make a striking silhouette - the base uses negative space
to suggest a Skyscraper outline. Each of the 4 base faces uses this cut-out design, creating quite a
complex profile. Instant Deco style. This style of chair is ideal for use in a room or hall, but you
could potentially have several around a dining table. This style of simple square shaped chair with
tall back is derived from Mackintosh & Lloyd Wright's chairs, just giving it a new Deco look. The
matching tables are shown in the tables
section. The side table above has one of our Donald Deskey V shaped lamps (see Deskey or lamps sections).
They have been shown in lots of colour variations & finishes below, from wood versions to wood/paint to
all painted versions. Some specialist paint effects could make them even more striking. They have a drop
in seat that could be finished in whatever fabric you prefer. They really offer a wonderful Deco statement
& splash of colour. Made to order. We don't give sizes or prices until we have agreed a spec. with a customer.

Several profiles;

We can do several profiles for the backs and cut-outs. While asymmetric shapes are more synonomous with the
Skyscraper style, some may prefer a more symmetric option. We've shown some more examples below.
